Red Roses

I've been wearing so much color lately and I'm totally loving it!! This outfit, in particular, makes me realize how much I just adore Red.. note to self, definitely need more red in my wardrobe.

You know me, keeping it simple and delicate here. I under accessorized because I didn't want to add too much to such a bold print. I also kept it a little more "matchy" than usual because I wanted to emphasize the reds and just create a really feminine look. My little red Prada babies were what I like to call my "New York Splurge," and a gift for myself for working my butt off all summer (hehe, excuses) .. They are the most comfortable heels I've EVER worn and I'm completely obsessed with them.

I topped the outfit off with a floppy olive hat and my shiny silver clutch and was off for a little shopping on Michigan Ave while visiting Chicago for the weekend!

Hometown Love

As most of you know, I'm on a little 2-week siesta in my small little hometown before I depart for Paris!  It's been nice thus far, relaxing a little and enjoying some time with my family, friends, and my doggies (haha).

One of the things I love about being home is the nature of people around me, and of course all of the colorful old buildings. There are a lot of historic little spots, and cute little nooks and crannies to explore.. It inspires me to dress a little more colorfully as opposed to the mostly black, white, and neutral fashion of New York (not that I am opposed to that either).  I'm obsessed with this vibrant chiffon kimono as it just drapes beautifully over even a simple little white dress. I paired them with my favorite bag and shoes of the moment and I feel completed!

My brothers recently gifted me those beautiful tiger's eye and quartz ring. I love having special, simple, accessories that go with all my outfits to remind me of what's truly important in life! Remember to always cherish the time you have with your family :)

Nasty Gal Shoe Cult (& Nasty Gal Giveaway!!)

If you've been following me on insta or twitter I'm sure you're aware that I've been drop-dead-excited to help Nasty Gal show off their ahmazzzinggg new shoe line "Shoe Cult." The line expands on classic Nasty Gal style with lots of clean lines, stud accents, and black leather.. To be brutally honest, I will be purchasing another pair because they're just way too freaking cute.

I wanted to pick an outfit that I thought embodied Nasty Gal's quirky, cute, and girly style- and honestly, what's more Nasty Gal than a classic "Mean Girl's" quote (hehe). I paired it with a shimmery All Saints skirt and a metallic clutch. I think a pretty & simple outfit is always the way to go when trying to show off your shoes, nothing too fussy.. but definitely a little dramatic (you feel me??)

Wednesday Style

It was a casual hangout day in Brooklyn and this is what I wore... You know I'm not really a short-shorts person but I had to give them a try here because my usual flouncy skirts would have just been too girly.

I put this whole outfit together around the awesome patterned jacket.. which I do often, pick one piece to build off of. It was giving me a kind of urban vibe and yearned for layering, so I went with it. I paired it with one of my closet basics, the white pullover knit, and a beanie.. plus some classic neutral heels. Hope you guys like it, it's a little bit of a different look for me!

Necessary Basics

Since coming to New York I've definitely undergone a nice style transformation.. nothing major. But I now think I really understand the concept of "effortless chic"and hope to perfect the concept when I move to Paris in a couple of weeks (I know, freakin' out!). Not saying I'm that great at it yet.. but I like the direction my style is heading.

Although there are no rules or guidelines to this concept, the style-ites here in New York live by the motto of looking chic-as-hell and, well, not fussy. There's some pattern mixing, textures, staying in a somewhat neutral (I prefer the word cleansing) color palette.. etc etc. It's all about having fun basic pieces to mix & match with other pieces in your wardrobe.

My Necessary Clothing black deep-V bodysuit is the perfect piece for layering and looks SO chic when worn simply or fun. It's really casual yet elegant- perfect for perfecting this new york style. I mixed it in with some of my other favorite basics and some new walking heels (haha) from Enzo Angiolini and some fun & quirky prints.

What do you think about this style? I think I'm hooked.

Sunflower Child

It's back to sunny summertime with this post. I can't get enough of sunflowers this summer, and thankfully the pattern is everywhere. Regardless, no piece of clothing has quite earned my affection like this Motel Rocks romper. It's just so perfect.. what's not to love about a vintage silhouette and pattern?

I accessorized accordingly.. sparingly but with modern shoes and a classic bag & straw bowler hat. It was really perfect for a hot NYC day :)

Bold (Giveaway!!!)

Hey y'all y'all! Don't you love black, white, and peach together? Such a random combo but I love love love it. Just showing off this amazing oversized jacket over a simple lovely neoprene shift dress gave me the strongest yearnings for fall.

This amazing coat, with a somewhat basket-weavey pattern, literally looks amazing over dresses. I love the length of the coat because it falls right at the hemline of most of them that I own. However, the lovely apricot color, and the simplicity of the dress, were the reasons I chose this A-Line fit from The Editor's Market to pair with such a bold printed coat.

I accessorized minimally because I'm not about a life full boldness (jk). I actually just always prefer minimal jewelry, I'm sure most of my usual readers noticed that by now! It's a somewhat French thing I've seemed to have picked up.. to disregard a lot of accessories. Oh, the Balenciaga look alikes and the wonderful black and white bag completed the perfect pre-fall look. I can't wait to wear some knitted tights and a giant scarf with it!

So do you love my little Apricot Dress?
