Knotted

Something simple & casual because let's be honest we all like to be comfy sometimes..

I've come to adore knotting my favorite tanks and tees.. perhaps it's nostalgia or perhaps it's the recent heat.. whatever it is, I hope I keep it around for awhile because I find it cute. Silly little things make even a casual outfit feel fun and unique. It's all about owning it, especially in NYC. If you own it, no one questions it.

I love the little zig-zag pattern on this LCT tank.. although I wish I would have left it bra-less, I totally had it covered up with a comfy batwing cardi most of the day. This is an easy-peasy look to bring into fall too!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I have more photos coming to you later in the week  :)

ASOS Back to School Styler (My 100th post)!

So New York has brought me a very gigantic amount of luck/work ethic/artistic inspiration/ whateveryouwannacallit. This month I was not only blessed to work with major brands, but I got to take part in a whole campaign for ASOS, which I am pleased to debut above (hehe).

Basically Asos put together a "Back to School Styler" app on their website displaying how their fave bloggers style their back to school trends/essentials. Here I display my pleated denim pinafore and shiny red brogues. Obsessed with both naturally. This outfit was SO ME. Like all my outfits are my style, but if you could bottle up my essence and sell it.. it would probs make you look a lot like this.

If you want to play around with the ASOS styler, you can find it here (you can see previews of all the outfits I'm going to debut in collab too!) I've got so many fun outfits and events to blog about this month- ahhh! Things are really looking up for me & my blog.. thanks to my awesome readers !

PS: This is my 100th post..YOU GUYS ROCK.. SERIOUSLY... And so does Asos so check out their page and our back to school essentials.. :)

Pattern Play

Central park is one of those real NYC gems loved by both tourists and locals alike.. I join the hundreds of others hiding in it's shade from the deplorable weather that is 102 degrees. I'm sure there are others of you that can sympathize with me as well.

Looking cute and trying to keep cool in this heat are pretty much mutually exclusive, but I've been trying my best to come up with cute tank top/skirt/sandal combos (as that is definitely was is coolest, not shorts!!) Since it's unreasonable to layer, I like to play with pattern and texture and small details when it's hot. I especially love my LCT tanks because they've all got adorable details like the double striped racer-back and tiny black buttons down the front.

I try to keep the accessories minimal and a hat on my head to block my face from the sun (protect your skin loves). Overall, this is my favorite combo. It feels a little summertime Parisienne, non?

The 90's are Back

Jumpsuits, overalls, pinafores.. I'm just a little too obsessed with them all. Maybe it's my self-proclaimed "mid-20s" crisis and they all make me feel like a 90's baby again (I'm pretty sure that's why they're so trendy again.. )

I love wearing these with cute bandeaus and bralettes underneath on these sweltering summer days in NYC. This white/black leopard lucca couture piece is on point, again! My boots are mainly for walking purposes, but they also look pretty great too and I'm obviously a little obsessed.

What are your thoughts on this trend? I really love it but I know it's kind of up in the air for some stillllll

The Perfect Summer Dress

Sometimes all it takes is a pretty dress, cute shoes, and city streets to make a girl smile. The NYC heat has been taking a toll on my usual definition of summer style, but I think I've found the remedy with loose flowey dresses and cute sandals.

Lucca Couture recently named me their July blogger of the month so I'm having fun with the lovely pieces from their summer collection! Adoring this tribal print/ triangle cutout dress. The asymmetric hemline and circle silhouette gives it the ultimate twirling power and made me feel like the biggest kid in the candy store (hence all the smiling).

Hope everyone had a wonderful week ! Now it's friday so go out and party (direct orders from me)

The World is On Fire

No really, it is on fire here. Any clothing more restricting than a dress slip is just not ok right now. With a heat index of 105, I called in for necessary measures. I spent my Sunday in Dumbo by the water & the shade in hopes of catching a little bit of a breeze.

After contemplating what I should wear, my roommate magically transformed a lingerie-esque robe into probably one of the chicest dresses I own (perks of rooming with Parsons students). I wore it with a lace bralette and shorts underneath, as the chiffon was tastefully revealing (and cooling).

I paired it with simple gladiators and my purse of the moment and a cinched belt.. I was told that I'm giving off Saint Laurent "realness," so overall I give it a gold star.

Wall Flower

Looking like vintage wallpaper has never been an issue for me so I've recently been obsessing over watercolor-esque-florals paired with casual (even "grungy") accessories. Super girly toned down with black & leather, naturally..

ALSO. I'm not usually a color pink kind of gal (even though lately it seems I've been wearing more of it huh..). But I lovelovelove this dress. It has a lovely little low-cut V back and flares out away from the waist making it comfortable and flattering. Just the way I like my dresses.

I have some reallyyyyyy awesome collabs coming in the middle of the month (I'm actually SO excited for them). Can't wait to unveil them to you all (:
